Why Skype?

Well besides the obvious reasons of seeing someones face or hearing their voice without the use of a telephone, Skype is a great social media tool that can easily be used for educational purposes. With Skype you are able to talk with people all around the world, for instance my Skype partner lives all the way in Germany! My other partner lives right in Omaha but I never would have known that he lived in Dallas for x amount of years had I not been asked to converse with him using Skype. It is such a personal way to communicate with those whom you don't see everyday, those who you barely know, and those who you may never see but still would like to build a relationship with. It's easy to download, fast, user-friendly, and most importantly fun! So instead of why Skype? Why wouldn't anyone Skype?

The Purpose....

How exciting it is to have my own blog! My name is Kia Carter and I teach preschool. The purpose of this blog is to share those AH HA moments with you that I have every day, as well as intriguing and new ways that we are learning and discovering in our classroom. Often times I plan an activity and the students being as creative and inquisitive as they are completely transform  it. I also hope to be able to provide this as an opportunity to easily communicate with parents who leave wondering what did Sally do in preschool today? I hope you enjoy!
